Coleg Sir Gar and Coleg Ceredigion are seeking Pastoral Coaches across the regions of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion who are passionate about supporting young people to succeed, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.
In this rewarding role, you will provide vital pastoral care, guidance, and support to learners, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
About the Role
As a Pastoral Coach, you will work closely with learners, staff, and external partners to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You’ll play a key role in monitoring progress, improving attendance, and supporting students’ wellbeing and personal development.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing groups of learners and delivering weekly tutorial sessions

Providing one-to-one support, target setting, and progress reviews

Monitoring attendance and implementing supportive interventions
-
Supporting learners with wellbeing, behaviour, and safeguarding needs
-
Delivering personal development and employability sessions
-
Assisting with career progression, UCAS applications, and next steps

Working collaboratively with curriculum teams and support services

Encouraging learner voice and engagement

Welsh Language Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

Degree or equivalent qualification
-
GCSE English and Mathematics at minimum Grade C or O Level equivalent

Experience and understanding of working in a Trauma Informed way

Good communicator

Good interpersonal skills

Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues

Good presentational skills

Ability to relate to target group

Good computer literacy skills
Desirable Criteria:

PGCE

Relevant experience of working with young people

Experience of actively participating in the pastoral care of young people
